Central Baltimore Homebuying Incentive

Launched in 2019, the purpose of the program, which is usually matched with additional City, State, and employer-provided homebuying resources, is to create a broad range of housing opportunities in Central Baltimore.

This year, The Central Baltimore Homebuying Incentive Program will focus on reducing vacancy in targeted housing markets b providing financial assistance to low- and moderate-income home buyers interested in purchasing redevelopment housing options per the below criteria.

Overview and Criteria

We are providing five year forgivable loan products in the amount of $10,000-$15,000 for our BRNI Boost down payment assistance in the following locations:

  • East Harwood properties ($10,000, 5-year forgivable, 120% AMI, homeownership counseling certificate required)

    • 2600 and 2700 block of Boone Street, Baltimore, MD 21218

  • Midway properties ($15,000, 5-year forgivable, not income restricted, homeownership counseling certificate required)

    • 700 Block of E 21st and 500-700 block of E 22nd

Documentation Required

  • Completed application (will provide upon request)

  • Ratified Contract

  • Homeownership Counseling Certificate

  • Use of a preferred Lender of NHS (will provide upon request)

  • Proof of Income (The $10K incentives in East Harwood are 120% AMI. The $15K incentives in Midway are not income restricted)

  • *these incentives can be combined with other grants and incentives*
